Why do u think the teams east of the mnts would have losing records . Hermiston-champs , Wenatchee almost beat the monarchs and were up at halftime and Spokane is very competetive . Maybe u never seen them play. Yes palouse and Moses lake would more than likley have a losing record. and as for the one team east of the mnts that did step up , I doubt they have a losing record . Just my thoughts .
The reason I say this is because these Central/Eastern WA teams had an opportunity to step up and didn't. I'm not sure what the owners were afraid of because from my observations the teams east of the cascades have been involved with a shady EFL Commissioner taking their money and doing nothing and a guy by the name of Chuck Love from what I understand was a swindler in the past, so again what are these owners afraid of. Getting duped? They participated in the GNFA last season and played the Monarchs, Shockers and Mavericks so what's the problem? The only thing left to believe is that these teams must be unorganized and will forfeit some games, fearful of losing or someone is on a power trip keeping his teams away. If not then these WFL teams, would have defiantly jumped in, put their rubber on the road and would have proved it. My only conclusion is that these east cascade teams not in the PFL are not ready for Prime Time. Thats cool keep practicing and maybe when these team mature they will step up......
Oh and I can't see these WFL teams play when they are hiding hours away from the public.
The semi pro lets wait an see defense. As if the league their in is better. ;D
Wow, that’s a big F-You to all the Eastern WA teams. Well right back at ya Rob. You know, for someone who has ran a team in the past, you have a very narrow minded take on all of this. The PFL is a great thing and I wish Spokane was going to be a part of it. However, just because it’s a great thing does not mean it works for everyone. Our ownership was on board and I know a lot of guys were excited by the new league but when the details were laid out, people lost interest. The largest issue being that the season goes a month longer into the summer and then we have play offs. The majority of the guys were not ok with this schedule, myself included, so we regretfully declined their invitation.
I know a lot of teams play a summer schedule but a summer schedule is not right for our organization. Why is it that you automatically assume we’re trying to doge losses and are scared of the competition? If you must know, here are a few reasons why:
1) Weather: You guys have a different climate over there and frankly it’s too hot during the summer to play football. Personally, I think Yakima is crazy for playing a summer schedule, that place is like an oven.
2) Field Availability: In Spokane, out of 12 + 3A-4A high schools and various others in the surrounding areas, I can think of two football stadiums that have field turf. One we can’t afford and the other won’t let us use their field. All other options are grass fields and the schools don’t want us on them during the summer so that they’re ready to go for their football teams in the fall.
3) ITS SUMMER! : I don’t know about the rest of you but for me, damn near every weekend during the summer, I have some sort of event planned. Weddings, camping trips, going to the lake, vacation, etc. And I know I’m not alone in this. I mentioned the proposed new schedule and my wife about lost her shit.
All teams would have a losing record? Are you just trying to provoke people with that statement? 2 of our top 6 teams are making the transition to play in the PFL, neither one of which won our league last year, are they going to have losing records? I think the history of the competition level in our midst speaks for itself, so I’m not going to get into a pissing match about how we’d do. That’s just poop coming out your mouth.
FYI - We haven’t been the EFL for three years. The WFL is not a perfect league but it’s a collective effort by all the teams involved. There’s no commissioner, so I’m not sure what you’re even talking about. Chuck Love has nothing to do with the WFL.
