Shortly, my grand children and I will pile into the car and make an annual trip down to the veterans Hospital in Seattle all thanks to my daughter Jenny for introducing me to this honor. Upon arriving I will be meeting Kaylee's teacher and we will enter with smiles upon our face and go room to room to say thank you and to give them cards and letters of thanks that were written by young children from Goldbar Elementary School.
It is my honor to say a simple thank you. It touches many, as Jenny can attest to the man who sobbed uncontrollably for minutes because we said 2 words...thank you....he was an obvious veteran from Vietnam. No one, not one person had ever told him thank you. His emotions over took him, and he sobbed...hard. My daughter and I both cried along with him. I held his hand as he was saying he was sorry for crying. Sorry for crying? Don't be sorry for crying, we are the ones who should be crying and we should be ashamed that we don't take the moment to say thank you.
So my thanks go out to my military and their families as they all make the sacrifice.
Thank you for protecting my country. Thank you for keeping us safe. Thank you for my rights, freedoms and my flag. But mostly, thank you for you.
