I agree with Maty on this issue. The PROFESSIONAL way to do this is by calling the team operators and asking permission to speak to a player or two about playing PRO ball. However, the only pro ball in the NW besides the NFL is Arena. Which in that case if the whole PDFL leagues participants are not getting paid then you will never get that permission. Mark, this was what I was telling you about Eric and the way he and his cronies were working as well. The guy is not a bad person but his way of doing business is for amateurs. He even called one of my players this summer and asked him to steal guys and come play for him. Problem about that is he never possessed the one crucial thing that we had from day one and that was integrity. The right way is to go and recruit your OWN players and not others retreads.

And Ill say it again, just cuz YALL recruit 1 way, dont mean EVERYBODY has to do it that way. I KNOW we arent on the same level, but if an NFL team wants a certain player that plays semi-pro, do you really think they would "ask the team for permission" to talk to that player? LOL. We are attempting to bring in new blood, and fresh new faces, but since I have played semi-pro so long, I know so many semi-pro guys. I am going to bring in ANY semi-pro player that can help us...

No one said you have to recruit a certain way. The statement above supports Maty's claim that the recruiting practices are shady. As for the permission thing I was saying if you were a Arena Team who are PRO then most of these teams would not mind you asking there elite players if they want to tryout for your team. Most would like the idea of sending there guys to the next level. But at the current state, of the particular league from this topic obviously they would not give you permission because you would have a better chance if this league were PRO and they trusted in there product which they don't at this time.

I respect yours, Matys, and Meadows opinions. Everybody has interesting points. Dont think that thats all we have is all semi-pro guys though. PDFL MVP Jarrell Patterson and DB of the year JT Leggin never played a down in semi-pro. We are bringing in new blood, mixing it in with the retreads...

I equate the Tacoma Cobras "being on another lever" to taking a shit in the upper tank instead of the toilet bowl, asinine.

I equate the Tacoma Cobras "being on another lever" to taking a shit in the upper tank instead of the toilet bowl, asinine. Wow, tell us how you really feel LFB. The Cobras have a good squad. They are a good semipro team. My whole point in starting this thread was to bring to light what I consider shady recruting practices. It has worked for them so far and they are introducing new players to the sport along with peeling players from other teams. As long as they do it during the other teams off seasons it is not an issue. It will be interesting to see if they can pull off the travel this coming season. A Pro League should have no problems getting all their employees to their scheduled games.

They may have a good squad but they aren't pros, they are mercenaries who prey on guys from other Tacoma area teams who think they have pro potential, the type of guys with egos way bigger than their talent. Promising young men they'll make them a pro doesn't make the cobras a pro team, it makes the cobras a bunch of exploitative assholes.

Are you angry because they didn't offer to make you a professional football player? Just kidding LFB. You are the man.

Yeah, I'm jealous that I can't be the semi-pro football equivalent of the day laborers that hang out early morning in front of the home depot. I mean it's cool that they admit to paying one or two players, but paying a couple guys under the table without paying their social security, L&I doesn't make you a professional team or league, it makes you the guy paying illegal immigrants 2 bucks an hour to hang siding.

I find your last comment to be both racist and culturally insensitive LFB. Duante doesn't allow that stuff on here buddy.
