A season filled with both promises and disappointments. Looking back at the Pacific football league 2013 season, had some comparisons to a horse race you think you know who's going to win the race, then the unexpected happens and we have to wait another year for a potential Triple Crown winner. Coming out of the gate the stallions and Colts were neck and neck going into the first and second turn, then another horse known as the "Yakima Mavericks" started closing fast on the lead, but no one saw a bulldog charging hard from the back of the pack. One huge change at quarterback by the Bulldogs change the whole course of the 2013 season. The new top dog "Eric Taylor", better known as instant offense. I can remember sitting in the stands during a few games this season, asking myself why isn't this guy playing, every time he touched the ball good things happen. Since taking over for Leon Lily, the turnover ratio was significantly reduced and offensives output significantly increased. During the turnaround process the dog pound average between 300 and 400 yards of offense per game. The running game became more dynamic and explosive and the passing game was unstoppable because of the run threat. The top guns in the Pacific football league did not see it coming and had no clue there was a quarterback change and what type of athlete they were dealing with out there. Had that change not been made the late charge we saw coming from the back of the pack would have simply fell short of the expectations of a championship win. Congratulations to the Bellingham Bulldogs 2013 PFL champions.
