The lying continues: "Facing the possibility of playing short-handed in back-to-back weeks, the Seattle-Tacoma Cobras elected to conclude their inaugural season of Professional Developmental Football League play this week".
Inaugural means FIRST YEAR. Who here thinks this is the Cobras FIRST YEAR in the PDFL?
"Hall said the 2013 season was an exhibition of what the PDFL can be in the future."
Who are we trying to fool out here? This...the FOURTH year of the PDFL, was now deemed an EXHIBITION SEASON?
This is the crap that gives EVERYONE a bad wrap. Lying and spinning stories in press reports is the hallmark of the PDFL and it's leadership from Day 1. Anyone want to ask Mike Bell his opinion of minor league football now? How about the new guys who were brought in, sold the bill of goods and now leave with a bad taste in their mouths?
Now some of you guys realize why we want nothing to do with the deceitful people in this type of "pro" football.

Let me try to break it down for you a final time Mr. Anonymous "Bolz" (Boltz?) WR... If you look at my post you will see "this type of "pro" football."
Let's try not to pretend the PDFL is anywhere near organized like the Arena teams who themselves have major issues at the lower tier levels (Alaska Wild ring a bell?) The Boltz even backed out of a scheduled game with Utah for whatever reason you may think is legitimate, even the Boltz have chosen to not travel just like the Cobras chose not to travel 2 hours to Portland for "safety" reasons.
The Cobras have less than 25 healthy players. Hmmm....where does that rank with the Bearcats, Monarchs, Renegades or even the Raiders?
"This type of pro football" has been around in this incarnation for 4 years. The league you admire and love so much is lying about it's existence as if it just came on the scene in response to the folding of the United Football League...a league which lost $120 million dollars with 5 teams.
In 1992 the "Professional Spring Football League" was announced with the Oregon Lightning Bolts as one of it's flagship members. Players came from California and all over, left Jr. College, coaches quit jobs at colleges for the lure of being in the "professional" ranks. In the end 599 athletes were left without teams, without leagues and not allowed to go back to college when the league collapsed.
In 1991 the "Amateur Developmental Football League" was announced as an alternative to the NWFL. They were going to be more organized, practice 5 days a week, and be a true development league with the Kent Sharks as the flagship. Didn't get off the ground.
In 1989 the "Minor League Football System" was in place with the Seattle Express (89) and Tacoma Express (90) as members. They played all over the country, paid their players, got guys tryouts, etc. After 1990 the money dried up, the fans stopped buying into the hype and the league collapsed with unpaid bills to schools, gear outfitters, players and coaches.
In 1965 the famous "Continental Football League" started with players like Ken Stabler playing for the Spokane Shockers. This was as close to what your PDFL dreams of being as you can get. But...they made the fatal mistake of going after college players the NFL wanted. OJ Simpson was offered a $400,000 contract by the Indianapolis Capitols. The NFL decided to end the CFL by opening up it's checkbooks with the Bills signing Simpson for $1.1 million and from then on, crushed the CFL by leaving them with the left-over athletes and public embraced the "new" NFL. The CFL folded up in 1969.
In 1945 a "professionals only" league called the PCPFL (up until then amateurs and pros played on the same teams and the same league) opened up with the Tacoma Indians. Two years later it collapsed under expensive travel costs. The Indians averaged 13,000 fans per game, played in front of over 20,000 fans in Honolulu and came home with $50,000 as their part of the gate cut for a 2-game series with the Hawaiian Warriors. Even that wasn't enough to keep them going. And this is 1946...$50,000 would be the equivalent of $597,000 today.
Your argument about "no vision"...if you had been around which you claim you haven't, you would know that in the past 8 years the best teams HAVE been getting together in one league. The best teams of the PNFC, EFL, NWFL, NAFL, and OFL who were all separated in different leagues in 2007, have come together in the PFL and the GNFA. The PNFC is gone (or morphed into the WWFA), The NWFL is gone, the OFL is gone and the NAFL is gone. In their place are the North and South divisions of the PFL and the WFL for the eastern teams, whose brother Yakima, joined with the PFL. In 2008 there were 43 teams. Today there are 25 teams...23 if you eliminate the 2 that folded, 25 if you add back in the Cobras and Boltz who are also now done for how long? There has been a contraction of teams. Good players are combining on teams the way they should be without saturating a market (Portland is still saturated as is Tacoma). Champions from each league have battled it out under the GNFA banner since 2006. Before that you had an NWFL that snubbed it's nose at the EFL and OFL and looked at them as the little sisters leagues. Today you have Yakima and Wenatchee as contenders each year, the Monarchs dominated. Now they all play together, for the most part they get along. So we had no vision for the future?
Contrary to your belief, it's always been a drive toward the future, to solidify the Northwest as one of the most powerful leagues in the Nation. Get the best of the best flying under one banner and proud of that. Not backsliding into failures of the past with delusional con-men dreaming up "professional schemes" that do nothing but take money from naive players (yes they take money from players in the form of paying their own way to travel to far away games), fans and sponsors.
As a player, I don't expect you to get it...yet. You will someday. When that window finally closes on your playing days and you see the reflection of the past behind you. You'll understand then that a league like the PDFL is, was and always has been a scheme. Which is why nobody who is an actual professional scout, has publicly known ties to professional teams, etc is ever front and center the face of one of these leagues. It's always some shady character who came from the shadows or the ashes of other failed minor league teams. People nobody knows, with pasts they keep covered up that when brought to light everyone goes "ya I can see that."
Soldier on PFL...this house of cards is crumbling like we knew it would. Just too bad it took too many promising athletes with it who will never step foot on a minor league field again because of the crap they were sold. I bet Utah is pissed!

Look in the mirror if you want to talk "idiocy". Your first 3 paragraphs are nothing we haven't heard before from minor league teams. Money ran out, too far to travel, too many injuries (that came straight off of the Cobras website big shooter...go check it out). So if the NFL repackaged itself they could sell you t-shirts that say "Inaugural Season"? When Eastern Washington changed to red turf, do they get to play their "Inaugural Season" too? Your attempt at circling the wagons around that farce is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and I've been around a lot of ignorant semi pro guys over the years, but that one is tops. Congrats. We will agree, if you don't understand the past you WILL repeat it. That's the whole point. It's being repeated as we speak. The Boltz aren't a one-team league. You have to convince other teams to get in bed with you and do it YOUR WAY. Is that going to happen? What's the marketing plan...go after the top PFL teams and recruit them? Plop another PDFL team in someone's back yard and hope they support your efforts then call them out and complain that nobody is working with you? (Repeated numerous times on this message board). Keep drinking that coolaid Mr Bolz WR. You are a broken record clone of everyone of those leagues I mentioned. "We have things in the works, we are going to do it better...it was the previous guys' fault". Heard it the past 5 years from EVERYONE in the PDFL...Cobras, Banditz, Mountaineers, Outlawz, etc. etc. The Monarchs weren't invincible. Nearly lost in Klamath, did lose to Springfield, got ass handed on National Stage. If you were getting bored, then I question what you are even doing on a football field. People who get bored on a football field and lose focus get knocked the F-out or get their own teammates messed up. I'm pretty sure there are a few guys wishing they were playing the Bearcats or Mavericks now that your season is finished. Sounds like some wanted to go play with Eruption until they shut it down too. 4 games isn't much of a season and waste of a year playing ball when the clock is ticking if you ask me. But then we warned everyone what the PDFL is and was. Everyone thinks they have a better way and that their way is going to bring in sponsors in droves and the money will flow in like fine wine. 123 years of history is in the books. Lots of case studies there on how not to do things. You aren't doing anything different no matter what you and the Boltz brass thinks. But good luck...oops..you got a little cherry juice stain on your shirt there!

the monarchs only played the mavericks once , in preseason , with a qb who could never really start for us . As for this year we beat the colts . easily . we can play with and maybe even beat the stallions with a full team . im sure of it .
the pdfl would be a tough sell for me . I would ask them how many years have you been at it ? they would say well we have had 3 first years . I would then say . im outs . noway would I be apart of something that has completely failed three times in a row . odds are it has no chance , especially if the main problem theo hall is still the main guy .
i don't know aaron fentress and from what ive heard i don't care too . but if the pdfl was such a great idea why did he only jump at it once he was fired from the monarchs , i mean it was around for three years . in fact i would say the level of competition was getting far better than it was in the ofl with the pfl .

Mavs I have watched film on the a lot of the PFL teams and the Boltz and its night and day bro, Boltz would dominate every team. You always has an excuse when yall lose or team you played on loses haha I was at that Game and the Monarchs where a way better team across the board. It wasnt your QB getting scored on was It? As for this History Fella he is a idiot!!

I am very dissappointed with what has happened. I wish that we had 10 more games as good as the 2 we played. They were fun and a lot of competition. As for you Mark, you are right about a lot with the PDFL. I wish everything in the PDFL would have found out sooner so Theo would have been removed from leadership sooner. It really sucks for me as I am chasing some National Records. I may only get 4 games this year. It has been a wasted summer.
Nick, lets not put a bad name on us as the Boltz. Lets not name call, or blast people. Thats not us. We are better then that. You are the best football player I have ever played with. Dont let them have a reason to think anything else of you. Mark is right about some of his points. You are right about some of yours. No need to call each other out.
As for the PFL, I respect the league. The OFL and PFL have been good to me. We as the Monarchs only lost one game in the NW after my first year. Honestly that game was a fluke. This years Boltz team would destroy that Monarchs team. We are that much better. So in my mind there is no doubt that we would have ran the league again. So I am glad that this league is here for us. I wouldnt have to waste multiple weekends playing the Vipers, Raiders, and teams like that. Those two PDFL games were awesome to be a part of. I wish the league would have been played out but here is hoping for next year.
BTW the WWFA wouldnt let the Eruption back into the league. If they would have the Boltz/Eruption would have forced a GNFA game against the winner of the PFL. Too bad huh.

That doesn't MAKE sense! The WWFA should let the BOLTZ play as the Eruption? you guys separated yourselves from everyone else and NOW that your LEAGUE is in SHAMBLES the rest of the WWFA should let you come into our league? ESPECIALLY after the Eruption had already FORFEITED TWO GAMES??? Russ, you made a hypocritical STATEMENT! You guys BLEW out 2 WWFA teams and you said you HATED wasting your time in the PFL, but you guys wanna JOIN the WWFA and play the PFL championship team? GTFOH! In your initial statement you MOVED on for better competition, but you are mad the LOWLY WWFA wouldnt let yall in? If you wanted to play the PFL, YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN THE PFL!! I hope they let YOU GUYS in the PFL so you ALL can SHUT THE FUCK UP AND BALL! Boltz ARE A GREAT TEAM! I have PLAYED EVERY TEAM but the Cobras in the NW and I not sure the BOLTZ would DOMINATE the Mavs, Colts, Bulldogs or Stallions! I PLAYED LB and you were CALLING Me out as the BLITZER and running away from ME! You guys were up 56-0 at half and Fentress tried to do the same in the second half and WE FINALLY GOT IT TOGETHER and held yo to 13! While your pasing game is GREAT, your team is not PHYSICALLY dominating on OFFENSE! So many PFL teams will be able to KEEP up with your athletes! Funny thing is you told nick to be humble, but you cannot do the same yourself! YOU ARE one of the BEST QBs I have seen, but try being HUMBLE for once!

jj, I don't think the mavs could beat the boltz . I think the monarchs beat us up pretty good . I do know that if lobbestale played qb that game we may have still lost but it would have been because of qb play which is a major factor in good team ball . as far as getting scored on , then you would have seen the qb throw I believe three ints for 6 . that equals 21 points . jj , ive heard you make excuses before . lets not act all crazy .

Sounds like the reall argument is who has better athletes WASHINGTON or Oregon , maybe their should be an allstar game. Or maybe a non league tournament 8 teams $1000 per team win takes all?

We have played teams who have matched us athlete for athlete. I think what has set us apart is how long we have played together. The core of us anyways (remember a number of guys have played college ball together as well). With that being said the top four teams form the PFL could play with the boltz. Do I think we win.......Of course! Are we beatable........of course. Is it going to happen (boltz playing any of the top 4 PFL teams).......I'm not losing sleep over it.
On another note I'll break down the 4 teams from the PFL. In my own personal rankings:
1) Stallions - Have second best overall talent in the league with a number of guys who have played with one another for a while. From what I have seen and heard have good leadership from ownership and players.
2) Mavs - solid team, what makes them a good team is their QB and WR, both are the real deal. Lack a running game though, but with best QB in the league your running game doesn't have to be great.
3) Colts - Best overall talent in the league. One of the better D Fronts I have seen in the NW. Offense needs more cohesiveness. Don't think we have seen them find their form yet but if they do........watch out
4) Bulldogs - All weight room team...lol Second best QB in the league with an overall solid offense. D is tuff but very simple scamaticly.
