First off all of us "Cobra players" aren't cut from the same cloth nor is anyone on any of these teams so it'd be nice to see "some" in front of these views of what everyone thinks of "some" of the Cobras. I'm not going to point a finger or talk bad about any other team out there cuz I'm not a hater and that's just not me. To say I'm disappointed is an under statement, I was looking forward to the game vs Yakima, a legit team, I've only played in the Bulldogs and Islander games this year and Yakima, North Cal (if that happens) were the only other games I was going to play in due to how i feel about the rest of the competition on our schedule. I just don't get nothing out of playing teams going into the game "I" feel have no chance at beating us. Point is "we" as Cobras no let me rephrase that "some" of us Cobras need to start looking at the bigger picture and stop pointing fingers at others and look at ourselves as why we are in the situation we are and have been over the last 4 years. Seriously?? That mentality is exactly why Terrell Owens just got cut from the Allen Wranglers arena team and lost his ownership stake in the team. He didn't want to travel the next couple of weeks. I have respect for you B, but I remember your days with the Bengals and Invaders and you played JUST to play. Now you sound like a prima dona that will only play games where you think the opponent is worthy?? That's a huge disrespect to every player on those teams YOUR team scheduled.

I meant no disrespect to any of those teams and I'm far from a T.O. as far as attitude maybe physique haha. I do love to play but as you get older and health starts to factor in things change. I had reconstructive rib surgery after our first year with the Cobras, cost me more than i can afford along with 2 titanium ribs thought I'd never play again, then our 2nd year in a blowout I get a small tear in my hip cost me 3/4 of the season. My thing is I don't care to have 3tds n 200yrds in a half when you look at the competition n know it doesn't mean anything. Like everyone knows those were fill in our schedule games cuz we couldn't get a schedule and there's no national championship so nothing to play for. Had I been in the PFL or WWFA which has a post season things may have been different. I've been trying to stick with one team and not jump ship even tho I loved n the stallions home field is right down the street from me or the vikings. To be honest the last full fun season for me was the 2006 bengals n that was finishing 5-5 but we had something to play for. Again no disrespect to any teams again the older you get n the decisions you make for playing on a team like this the fun of playing the game isn't the same.

I hear you on the age thing, but being the "aged" one you tend to be a reluctant role model now for young guys just breaking into the minor league game. If they see the "star" behaving a certain way, or not practicing or going to games, they will believe that's what they can do too. It's a double edge sword B. I get the injuries and not wanting to go down that path again for a meaningless game, but as a vet, you do carry responsibility to the younger guys and showing them how to make the game better than you have experienced on some of the teams you have been on. I know you have been on some of those teams and had to endure Bobby Poeltl talking a little smack from the other sideline but what I ask of every veteran player out there...don't teach the new guys the same bad habits you've seen on other teams even though injury is a legit reason, if you can, still be the team guy who is at every practice and every game even during injury. It's what keeps the game stuck in the muck when the bad parts of the game are continually repeated by the next generation of players.

Trust me I couldn't agree more. I was that guy our 2nd year and last year, but I can only blame me for putting up with what has happened to get me to this point. On the other hand we both know the game has changed and so have these younger guys over the years.

Ya the younger guys have changed, but a unified group of vets along with strong willed coaches and owners have the power to change all of that. You may have to tell a good athlete to hit the bricks once in awhile to keep your team on that path. And I remember one player in particular who was so humbled by that treatment, he came back hat in hand and told our coach "nobody has ever treated me like that or kicked me off the team, and I'm glad you did, because I know I was wrong and I respect you for doing that". He became a damn good team player as well as good athlete after that.

Keith, I would sell my soul to play against the Cobras... I was very dissapointed to have to watch the game from the sidelines. The 6 games that i have played against the cobras were some of the most entertaining games i've been a part of. I do understand why it is a good idea for them to not play the game though.

It's only a matter of time now the rest of these teams will fill up with Cobras bailing and, if you condone that type of thing, something is wrong with your thinking. Put your hatred for us aside a minute. What if it were anyone BUT us? What if it was YOUR team? You work your ass off to get a complete schedule, then cuz a team is doing better than they expected, they drop out of a game vs a team who is very talented and could give them their first L and hurt a player or 2? Bad reason, and bad business. Just MY opinion. Not of my team. But I, myself, think its bullshit. For one we never schedule non league games and it has never happend in league or there team in cut from the league. And didnt some of your guys bail last year due to lack of games Better keep sucking off Sarkisian and get a few more Huskies to have a shot at the Islanders. thats what happens when you dip into the JV pool with these former WSU cougs and huskies at least upgrade to SC or Oregon

I had the same situation in 08...guys didn't want to play a meaningless non-league game one week prior to WFL playoffs. The rumor was, it was a grudge match and certain players on both sides would be out to hurt the others. But, as the "owner" I upheld my obligation. The result was some players not really taking the game seriously and pulling themselves out early or other guys only playing one series and letting the backups play the rest...we ended up doing just enough to win the game.

I understand not WANTING to play, but I DON'T understand backing out of an obligation set months ago. I will never agree to that, but it don't matter. Duante, I guess playing the Bulldogs, Islanders, and Knights ain't competition.
