Seriously you guys got a back up file for just football in the NW you can relate to?!
All this finger pointing and she said he said shit yet nobody cares!
Grumpy old ass men, crying like little girls....sad
Ahhh grasshopper....you too shall one day walk on the aged side.
But seriously...it may sound like old shit to you younger guys, but one day some couch-riding-nut-swinger will pop off and try to downplay what you guys did during your years, or flat out lie about your organization. At that point, I'm hoping you too would choose to defend it be it last year, or 10 years ago.
My last defense of MY time for the couch-riding-nut-swinger...if anyone thought we ducked teams, our 19 game stretch between 2006-07 consisted of:
Willamette Valley Raiders - Cedric's NWFL Contenders w/the Littletons
Pierce County Knights - Mitch Johnson, Reynolds, and other Colts
Northwest Avalanche - MANY current Bellingham players
Seattle Stallions - Doc's best Stallions team loaded w/NWFL all-stars
Portland Monarchs - one loss in the Northwest in like 45 games
Yakima Mavericks - top undefeated team
Valley Mustangs - alot of current Colts including A. Montgomery
Lakewood Wolves - Bernard Blosser among other Cobras and Colts
Lane County Dragons - garbage team but they were in the league
Lakewood Wolves - see above
Renton Ravens - supposed to be a tough NWFL defense
West Sound Saints - NWFL runners up -a few on the Bears team
Skagit Valley Lightning - David Wells and other current Bellingham players
Lane County Dragons - garbage
Northwest Avalanche - Bellingham guys still playing
Northwest Avalanche - Playoff game
Valley Mustangs PNFC Championship 66-0 - current Colts
High Desert Lightning - OFL All-Star
Blue Mountain Stars - Undefeated EFL champs w/Jay, Tate, Roman, etc...
(roll into 2008 and the lineup was: Portland Monarchs, Tacoma Invaders, Yakima Mavericks, Okanogan Commandos, Bellingham Bulldogs, Riverhawks, Blue Mountain Stars, Tri City Knights, Wenatchee Rams)...28 fairly decent games played in a row against league and non-league opponents who wanted games.
Point is...we didn't duck anyone and MANY guys on the Cobras, Colts, Bears, Bulldogs, etc...played on teams that gave up 50, 60, 70, even 80 points to us.
By today's terms..going 17-2 or 24-4 during that stretch would be a pretty good feat....that's all I'm saying.
And yes we do have it backed up on a hard drive! LOL! it's called
www.gnfafootball.org/history.htm !
And with that...I'm out.
