Here is what some teams like the Monarchs are trying to avoid. This is why we are called minor league football vs semi "pro". " Mike Balogun was a standout inside linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2008. He was declared ineligible to play the 2009 season because he allegedly played for the Maryland Marauders of the North American Football League, a minor league team in Maryland after turning 21 years old." Heres one article: newsok.com/banned-ou-football-player-mike-balogun-breaks-silence/article/3445203This guy did go on to play in the NFL. Correct! And this guy played on a SEMI-PRO team. So all Semi pro players are the same in the eyes of the NCAA. So why do teams avoid each other? Do you have a team full of kids not picked up by the colleges out of High School? How did they not get noticed? Huuummm!

wanna see who needs who drop the cobras off your schedule until these punks learn their role. wanna be pro? hop on a plane and fly to virginia, texas and arizona for games I will take semi pro linebackers over some wazzu washout who managed 10 tackles for his career. I had that many in college just covering kickoffs.

Easy fix is to sit anyone who is on the team who has college aspirations, which is usually only about 2 or 3 guys at the most... So, let me get this straight. I should tell those who want to maintain their college eligibility, who pay their player fee, and have every right to play in every game we play because they have done everything we have asked them to do and have followed our rules, they can't play in a game. What kind of sense does that make for the best interests of the Monarchs organization? I have a league and a full schedule. Why is it my responsibility to make sure you have a full schedule? As an owner, I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. I have my own opinion of the Cobras ideology, business practices, goals, etc. but I don't get on here saying anything about that, good or bad. Why? Because what I think has no bearing on what the Cobras do. Just like what any of you think about me or the Monarchs outside of our team and league leadership, is irrelevant. The Monarchs play in an organized league with RULES, clear goals, and CONSEQUENCES for breaking those rules. Any games outside of that are set based upon whether those potential opponents will not be DETRIMENTAL to the Monarch reputation within our community or our business. With that in mind, there are other teams I refuse to deal with other than the Cobras.

Teams that can beat you. I respect your decision not to play us, our guys just like to PROVE they are the best team. We HAVE a full schedule this season, but we want who is supposedly the best! Y'all should take it as a compliment. We love competition, playing the best, that's why we are playing the Islanders, a team who would beat ANY WWFA or PFL team. We want to PROVE we are the best! That's why we challenged the Stallions for 3 years, that's why we challenged the Monarchs.

Interesting that someone brought up eligibility for college and semi-pro ball. I good close friend who is the head of the recruiting department for a Div. II school mentioned that there might be an interesting rule or modification coming during the summer NCAA meetings. One of the things being talked about is allowing college eligible kids play at any level of semi-pro- the only thing now is that its who they play with and against. Yes playing against a "pro" team is still out, but now they are going to want to look at the roster of the team the member played for. If there are "pro" players on the roster then that member will now become ineligble based that they are playing with pro caliber talent. If this comes up and is based this summer at the NCAA meetings that could change a lot of rosters and the way things are done. Many teams in the NW are full of former pro players from different leagues (NFL, CFL, AFL, UFL, IFL, AFL2..etc) so then what? This should be a good topic to follow, and hope that it doesn't pass through the board.

First off COBRAS.... Until we start playing like a pro team don't get on any board tooting your horns. Second it makes zero sense to get on this board and call out and disrespect teams and leagues that most of us have come from. Regardless of all that's being said a man had and idea and ran with it. Its a great idea to some and to others its just another joke, but if every man that had a great idea tossed it because someone didn't like it or agree with it that's in the same field, industry etc. We wouldn't be where we are today. Bottom line is we all are men that love the game of football. To talk down at a man or organization because they are not on your level as you see it, is completely childish and speaks a lot about your character. Whether going pro is or isn't your ultimate goal we all are blessed to still do what we love. PDFL, PFL, WWFA, OFL or whatever organization that your in. If you help another man be successful and reach the next level congrats to you and not only to you but to all of us as minor league organizations. COBRAS she some type of respect for yourselves and talk with you pads on the field. Its completely ridiculous for you to be on this board trying to call a team, player or organization out and we don't even have our own house in order. Focus on what we have to do week to week and let the coaches and management deal with everything else. Who we are playing should not be your concern, however the way we are playing should be. Kenneth W. Jackson Jr Cobras QB#9 "If you don't know you better ask somebody" Good post. Too bad it took all this hype to get you on your computer! Good luck Mr Jackson, good to see you stilll got a level head. hahahahahahahah stay healthy brother!

It makes sense why GRCC and other groups have started these CC teams to buffer these younger kids from losing their eligibility and still playing a little ball!

Heres one article: newsok.com/banned-ou-football-player-mike-balogun-breaks-silence/article/3445203I still feel bad about that. I took stats and film at the game and posted the stats like I always do ( link) and three years later his attorney and the NCAA won't stop calling me. I testified that semi-pro rosters are hardly accurate and that I wouldn't "Mike Balogun" from "Adam". They could have put "Dick Butkus" on the roster and that's what I would have used in the boxscore. It really sucks because the entire purpose of the NWFL was to get kids INTO college, not get them kicked out of college. The NAFL was minor league as well so I'm not sure that being minor league vs semi-pro makes a difference. How I understand it is that he played organized football after the age of 21 and it counted as a year of eligibility. If you see me at your game and you're doing something the NCAA won't like - please just give me a heads up. That was a great game to watch. The Saints defense was solid throughout and Malachi DeWalt was an absolute monster in the 2nd half.
