What team? What are you talking about? I don't have a team. And if you were in the PFL you couldn't pay and therefore would no longer have many of your players so you would be just another good team.
Let me break this down for you by using an analogy. And I want to preface this by saying this is not a personal attack. I don’t know you. For all I know you are the greatest guy ever. So, I’m not saying this as a personal indictment on YOU, but I do mean it as an indictment against the way the Cobras operate and how you and your pals have conducted themselves.
You guys are like that 8th-grade bully who has been held back twice. He walks the halls shoving weaker, smaller children into lockers, gives them swirlies, steals their lunch money, and generally terrorizes the student body.
He tells kids if they don’t like it to meet him in the parking lot and of course they decline. He then calls them scared little pussies and boasts about how he’s the meanest mother fucker around and nobody can touch him.
Of course, he ignores the fact that he’s 15, weighs 190 pounds, has a mustache, defined muscles and carries a switchblade. And that the kids he terrorizes are 11, 12 and 13, still fighting the awkward, gangly stage of puberty and generally just want to be left alone.
After school, reality hits. The other kids go home to study, or play video games with their friends, or to their sports team practices, drama rehearsals or music lessons.
The bully, on the other hand, has nowhere to go. No one to play with. He can’t play sports because he’s too old for junior high and too stupid for high school. The young kids won’t hang out with him because he treats them like shit. The high school kids won’t hang with him because he’s an idiot.
So, he’s left alone, floundering for direction. Searching for something to validate his self-perceived greatness.
But he’s stuck, rudderless, aimlessly fighting upstream in life.
Eventually, as with all pathetic bullies, he disappears. Nobody is quite sure to where. He simply fades away. Arrested? Moved? Reform school? Maybe the junior high pushes him through to high school to get ride of him?
Whatever the case, he’s gone. And eventually the dark memories of him fade away only to resurface in tales told by those he terrorized who have gone on to become successful, productive citizens. They mock him, laugh, and ultimately, pity him.
And they wonder, “whatever happened to that swith-blade carrying Neanderthal?”
In the end, nobody knows and nobody cares.
This is where the Cobras are headed.
You supposedly have the baddest team around simply by playing by “pro” rules to seduce talent from teams around you. But you have virtually nobody to play against because the other teams are busy playing one another in structured amateur leagues. You boast, bully and brag but no one is intimidated because nobody really cares. You have a six-game schedule, last played April 30 and don’t play again until June 18.
How long can this last before your players realize that 1) they don’t play games. 2) they aren’t being developed. 3) they aren’t going pro anyway?
Not long. And then, you’ll be gone.

Im a loyal cat. We took a big hit, but Ill ride til the wheels fall off. I aint a quitter. I personally put this Cobra team together, I havent paid anyone a dime. Whats so shady with the way I, myself, did business? We are in the process of adding games to our schedule, and its looking favorable. How do you know we dont develop our players? Have you been to a practice? Gotta be a lil more than just good players to do what we have been doing. You would think SOME coaching came into play. It takes a special coaching staff to deal with so many good players egos. Like I said, you are going to hate, along with the 3 others, Im going to keep trying to make my squad the best in the NW, and the NATION...

If you don't pay then don't use the phrase "Pro Football" on your website. www.tacomacobras.com/Click on schedule and it says "Pro football" under "Tacoma Cobras." Also...there's a little article on the site that reads: "Tacoma Mayor, Marilyn Strickland, announced on Tuesday the 19th that The Tacoma Cobras, two- time PDFL, (professional developmental football league), champions are now the official professional football team in Tacoma. All of the month of May is Tacoma Cobras Month."I'm sure you do coach your players. I never said you didn't. And what exactly have you been doing? Am I missing something or is winning a three or four team league supposed to be impressive? The Buccs stink and the Bolts folded. What exactly have you done?!?!? Best in the nation? What nation? Nation of semi-pro? But wait, you're not semi-pro. You're pro!! Correct? Again, I'm confused. I scroll down below the input screen and I see 16 helmets associated with the PFL. I see nine in the WWFA. I see six in the WFA. I see two in the NWFL. And, I see two in the PDFL. You're obviously not in the other leagues because you have separated yourself as being something MORE and BETTER than the rest of the teams. So go be an ELITIST and stop begging the peasants for games. The concept of developing regional pro teams is noble. But good lord, man. It cost money to transport an entire football team across two or three states. Who's paying for that? What's the point? I'm sure the PDFL, as with the ill-conceived NLFL, sounded great when those "in charge" banged out ideas over pizza in a living room. But logistically it's insane. That's why Salt Lake City didn't show up last week. Will the Cobras make their scheduled trip to Salt Lake??? That should be the next poll question. I'd vote "HELL NO!!" Beggars can't be choosers, Toro. You can't make people play you on your terms. You call yourself a pro team then expect amateur teams to play you simply for the privilege of getting smashed and basking in the glow of your vast superiority. It's a backwards way of doing business. Tell you what, come down off your high horse. Drop the "pro" label. Stop paying players (rumors are you have paid and have offered money to players. True or not, I don't know). At least pretend to be just like the other teams around you and then MAYBE, just MAYBE, you'll be able to convince more teams to play you if for no other reason other than to tune up for their own real league games.

I almost WISH the PFL would let us in so yall would have NO CHOICE but to play us!!! Why wouldn't the PFL let you in if you dropped you "Pro" label? I read all this back and forth and do have to say that I am impressed with what has been done with the Cobras, but at the same time it's hard to give respect to a team that does beat up on weaker teams not associated with their league. Their label and who they play is a contradiction. Check out this league and what their doing....http://www.theudfl.com/# No disrespect though about what they been trying to do.

Some people say that if the cobras didn't pay their players they wouldn't play or quit? Actually, a lot of us would like to join the pfl and play every week and would care less if they dropped the PRO label as well. Especially to play in a league stacked with games every weekend with great teams to compete against.
I myself, played in the NAFL the last 3 yrs and each year has grown with more teams, talent, and competition. But with that being said it's not up to the players or coaches. I understand we can't play other teams in other leagues because of the fact that we supposively get paid (which we don't lol), but as most of us, once we commit we gotta ride it out regardless of the circumstances until the wheels fall off.
Next year who knows what'll happen, the cobras may join the PFL or may not, idk. All I know is a lot of guys just wanna play (for the love of the game), especially the teams from the PFL. But it ain't up to us. But we do have one hell of team and a coaching staff that I'd ride and die for.

Keith, this makes sense to me. The Cobras seem to be a solid organization from top to bottom. The league is very suspect and unfortunately that reflects on the teams. "We're better than you but please give us game anyways or we'll call you scared" isn't working for the Cobras organization. "The concept of developing regional pro teams is noble." What pro league are the Cobras developing players for? Where does the PDFL fall in the hierarchy of developmental leagues? NCAA CFL AFL UFL IFL . . . College remains by far a player's best shot at being developed to make a living wage playing football. The PDFL takes away that opportunity.

::)Of course it makes sense to YOU. We have sent several players to several different pro leagues, so we are doing what we are supposed to do. Now, Keep it Real, you keep discrediting the Blitz. The Blitz/Raiders have been blowing teams out around the NW on a regular for a few years now. We are 6-0 against them. When they win the WWFA, there will still be some reason we aint that good.

Teams out of region know what we do, and they aint affraid to play us. If you DO have a kid, or a couple kids on your squad that have college aspirations, the easy fix would be to sit those guys for that game. We get calls on the regular to play, but they all are pretty far. We are working on something big for a few months away, stay tuned. We dont send kids to college cuz thats not our direction! We have a sole purpose, and it isnt getting kids to college, although I find THAT a very commendable cause.

We have a sole purpose, and it isnt getting kids to college, although I find THAT a very commendable cause. There you go with the "afraid" accusations (one 'f' by the way). What exactly are folks to be "afraid" of? Losing? All but a handful of teams have already lost games this year. So maybe the other 90 percent of the teams shouldn't have played at all this year since they are supposedly afraid of losing. Are they supposed to be afraid of getting blown out? That makes more sense. But it begs the question? If you are so sure you will blow out everyone THEN WHY SHOULD THEY WANT TO PLAY YOU?? Where is the incentive? You recruit the top players from teams in your area then challenge those teams to games when they have full schedules and you don't, then when they decline (because you recruited their top players) you call them afraid. Oh, and now they should just sit out the players who want to play in college??? Man...that is straight-up hilarious! Forget coaching football. You should be the opening act on the next Chris Rock tour. I would pay to see you deliver a comedy routine on how this plan of yours makes any sense. It would have to be comedy because it's so damn funny. This is the poorly thought out version of the Eastside Hawks. Back in the day, their owner, a former NFL player named Sam Adams, waltzed into the NWFL flashing his money and fame and people melted like little bitches at an Usher concert. He ran amok in the league, players flocked to him because he was an NFL player and hoped he could help them get a look. LOL Sam built a super team and demolished fools, especially in 2004. At least they had the foresight to get into a real league first. YOU, on the other hand, build an alleged super team with no real league and then were forced to challenge teams from real leagues in order to find games. Whoops!! Had the Hawks done that they would have found few takers as well. I'm calling my shot right here and now. The Cobras will not have a team as early as next year but at the very least by 2013. Players will soon realize that it's no fun to be on a football team that doesn't play AND they will gradually see the light that playing for the Cobras doesn't help their pro dreams, anyway. Honestly, I hope I'm wrong because I don't like to see anyone fail (well, mostly anyone) but the writing is on the wall.

Again with the annonomous shit. Old real fast. ESPECIALLY someone in YOUR position. Like I said, and like Im saying for the last time: BRING YOUR SQUAD! I know who you are, YOU are the prime example! You supposedly have 1 of, if not THE best semi-pro team in the NW, TEST YOURSELF! We have been wanting to play yall for 2 years now. Stop with the "full schedule" excuses, and the "you pay your players" excuses, and BRING THAT ASS! We are looking for a challenge against a good team, thats all. I know your team is good, I havent talked a gang of shit about YALL like YOU are very immaturely doing! I can be hilarious to you all you want, like Debo tells Smokey, STOP BEING A BITCH AND COME ON!!! Im calling MY shot right now: YOU aint man enough to reveal your identity throwing out a gang of accusations! AND, I see you TOTALLY ignored my comment about the Blitz/Raiders cuz you only have 1 mission, to hate...

If hes anything hes intelligently immature because his points make sense and you are supporting his points with your posts. Excuses? I hate excuses. However, I would like to know exactly what the excuses are and if they can be backed by facts. At which point they would no longer be excuses. If you had a schedule I would presume you would not be pushing so hard for a game? Lastly, you keep saying that theres big things in the works since last year. I know for myself I have been waiting for those big things to surface but havnt seen anything yet other than bad things (not hating). I have not said one negative thing about your league but as fan Im being disapointed right now. I love football and always want the best especially for people who put in alot of work and effort towards something. I like your no quit attitude and do wish it pays off for both your league and your team. If it doesnt then its not the end of the world but theres always the PFL Good luck mang and I will be looking forward to what yall have stirring up.

And I am only PUSHING for a game against TOP TEAMS. Same for when we contact teams out of the region. We dont get off on beating these semi-pro teams 86-6 like we have done. Doesnt help us. So if you see ME trying to get games, its cuz I like to play the so called best. Thats how I was as a player, thats how I am NOW. Yeah, I WONT quit, I helped build the monster. I will see it through til the end, whatever that might be...
