NW JC Football making a return?

Here is an article from the Kitsap Sun about the team they are starting. I heard through the vine that the Eruption may also be part of this program. Looks like JC football is trying to make a return the NW. I wish them the best and hope it works out.

THE KITSAP PENINSULA JUNIOR COLLEGE football team is joining the Northwest Junior College Football League.

Last year, the NWJCFL fielded four teams: Columbia Basin, Tacoma, South Sound and Everett. The first-year Warhawks will be coached by AJ Beard, a former assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at South Sound.

Kitsap will hold tryouts March 17 and March 31 from noon to 3 p.m. at Kitsap Lake Elementary School. Practice is scheduled to being April 9 at Old East Bremerton High School/Junior High at 5:30 p.m.

With all those interest in the Bears team this would be a good chance to send a lot of players to this workout.

The Everett Red Raiders were not at the February combine. We do things a little different and recruit our players from local high schools. Although we value and appreciate the combines that other teams have, we feel that in order to be successful, recruiting has to be the way we build our team. We have 55 players on our roster after only having 35 last season. We still have a few more players that we are working on adding before August. Our first game in 2012 is in Ephriam, UT against the Snow College Badgers who finished 12th in the NJCAA rankings last season. We also play Linfield College in a JV game in October in addition to the other teams of the NWJCFL. This league has had some growing pains, no doubt.
